Sculpture

These sculptural forms represent a new area within my work, reflecting the immense texture and intricacy of the geological formations that inspire my research.

Using an eight-hour open bite etched plate inspired by aerial imagery of naturally eroded shore platforms, I created moulds to cast both glass and concrete. Both materials highlight the patterns differently, through manipulation of light, shadows and texture.

Introducing a tactile dimension to my work further emphasises the beauty and form of geological structures shaped over millions of years, leading to a sense of wonder and deep time.
